New Release – Drone Day 2020

This album has a live recording of the set that I developed while performing a YouTube Live Stream on World Drone Day. If you don’t want to sit through 6 hours recording, then this album captures the essence of that night.

All sounds recorded live from AE Modular from tangible waves, Synthstrom Deluge, Korg Wavestate and Korg Volca FM.

World Drone Day 2020

This Saturday the 30th May 2020 is World Drone Day and I will be streaming live from my little studio in Bega, Australia!

This will be my first ever attempt at streaming, so let’s see how it will all work out!

More information about World Drone Day here: https://droneday.org

Hopefully there will be other people from the AE Modular Forum that will participate, see the post below for more info:

My Studio is complete

It was a fun journey, fuelled by GAS and not knowing what to do and how to do it. But now I feel that with my latest acquisitions I have narrowed it down to the essentials: The AE Modular from tangible waves for for modular experimentation, the Deluge from Synthstrom Audible for all sequencing, sampling, looping and beats and now for all the digital and bombastically orchestral sounds – the brand new Korg Wavestate. For FM sounds I also have the Korg Volca FM, but currently I’m not sure when I will have time for it.

With these instruments I have now finally no more excuses. I can (theoretically) make any sound that I would ever want. The Deluge can play any sample and even single cycle waveforms. The Wavestate has a store of over 1000 different sounds that can be morphed, cycled and shaped.

NO MORE EXCUSES.

New Release – Ambiventures

This is my very first album release on Bandcamp. This is a selection of some ambient tracks that I’ve posted on YouTube just to get my feet wet with creating a Bandcamp album. I also think that these tracks work well together as an ambient soundtrack.

All sounds were created with the AE Modular system from tangible waves.

Pay what you like, I hope you enjoy this.

GRAINS – New Firmwares

The GRAINS module is basically a tiny computer inside your AE Modular that can be programmed to do just about anything sound wise. Because the AE GRAINS is a direct clone of the Eurorack GRAINS you can install the same set of firmwares on it, just as I’ve described on my first video about Getting Started with GRAINS.

Now a very talented software developer from Germany, Mathias aka @visuellemusik, has developed a few new firmwares exclusively for the GRAINS module. These will only work in the AE GRAINS and not on the Eurorack version because the AE has one added input for Audio and one added output for digital signals and some of the new firmwares use one or both of these.

You can find those programs on Github here: https://github.com/aemodular/GRAINS

Below are my first three tutorial videos.

What are you going to do with the GRAINS module? Please post your creations or code on the forum!
